Frequently Asked Questions about Covid-19 in Turkey

Do the guests need a PCR test to enter Turkey?

No, it is not a must to take a PCR test to enter the country but some of the airlines ask it before they get on the plane. So we advise our guests to have a PCR test result with them before they get on the plane.

Is there any test upon arrival?

Yes, but it is not mandatory for everyone. If the guests have symptoms, the security can ask the guests to take a test. On that case, the cost of the test is paid by the government.

What are the new normals at hotels, restaurant, and busses?

Busses:

The mini, midi and big busses can only accommodate the half of it’s capacity. For example, 46 seat bus can only accommodate 23 people including guide and tour leader. Every morning the guide checks the body temperature of the guests.

Hotels:

Check-in: Upon arriving at the hotel, they check the body temperature of each guest and write it down. Mask is obligatory in public areas.

Restaurants:

Most of the hotels serve a set menu for both breakfast and dinner. And if the hotels still have the open buffet, the chefs are there to serve the food based on the guests’ requests.

In other local restaurants, the same procedures apply. And also, they check the body temperature of each guest before entering the restaurant.

What if the guests have some symptoms?

The guide directly talks with the Health department of the company and arrange the test for the guests.

If the guest’s result is positive there are two scenarios.

1.The guest have serious symptoms

It is a must for the guest to stay in the hospital. It is decided by the doctor on spot.

  1. The guests has early signs

Quarantine procedure will be applied at the hotel.

Who will pay the additional cost for quarantine and tests/treatments?

If the guest has a serious symptom, the government hospital will serve them. The Turkish Government pays the random PCR test at airport for pax suspected to have Covid.

The Turkish government pays for the emergency hospiltalization of the client in case he exhibits serious symptoms.

But if the guest have only early signs, and doesn’t have serious symptoms, the guest will pay for all the additional cost.

That’s why we strongly advise our partners, to make the Travel Insurance which covers covid as well before the guests’ departure.
