Two Rivers “ Tigris and Euphrates” that create Mesopotamia born in Southeast of Turkey and flow to South, today’s Iraq and Syria. We may say that modern life has started in Mesopotamia as some of the early prophets also was born in there. One of them is Abraham who was born in Şanlıurfa, a city in the heart of Mesopotamia. But there is something way older than those histories which is Mysterious Göbekli Tepe ( Pot Belly Hill Ruins) that dates back to 10.000 BCE which is also located there in the southeastern part of Turkey.

Itinerary

Day 1Istanbul

Upon arrival, meet and greet local guide and proceed to Istanbul Old City. Our first visit is going to be Blue Mosque which was built by Sultan Ahmet the first on 1616 and very famous with its stunning blue tiles on its Wall. Afterwards we visit Hagia Sophia which was built as an Orthodox Church by Emperor Justinian in 537 AD. However the giant worship center was converted in a Mosque by Sultan Mehmet the Second in 1453. It is now a museum where you can enjoy the harmony of two culture in the same building. After our time finishes at Hagia Sophia, we continue our trip visiting Topkapı Palace which was built by Sultan Mehmet the Second in 1475. Topkapı Palace is the biggest palace in Turkey and also one of the biggest in the World by its 80 acres area. Topkapı Palace is the most visited palace in Turkey while it offers to its visitors many beautiful small mansions with nice view of Bosphorus Strait or Golden Horn, many valuable jewelleries which was used by the Sultans, Holy Relics such as David’s sword, Moses’ Staff and so on.

Day 2Istanbul / Sanliurfa

After we have our breakfast at hotel, we check out from hotel and proceed to airport for domestic flight to Şanlıurfa GAP Airport. Upon arrival there, we are going to visit Birthplace of Prophet Abraham and Well of Prophet Ayyub. Upon visit to the Birthplace of Prophet Abraham, we have the chance to see the Cave where He was born and raised until 7 years old. Also we are going to visit Mevlid-i Halil Mosque and Balıklıgöl complex where it is believed that Prophet Abraham was thrown to fire at that place but with a miracle fire became water and woods became fish by Abraham’s prayer. At the end of the tour we will check in hotel and have dinner there.

Day 3Sanliurfa / Istanbul

After we take our breakfast there, we check out hotel and proceed to Göbekli Tepe Ruins an archaeological site in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey approximately 12 km (7 mi) northeast of the city of Şanlıurfa. The tell (artificial mound) has a height of 15 m and is about 300 m in diameter. It is approximately 760 m above sea level. The tell includes two phases of use, believed to be of a social or ritual nature by site discoverer and excavator Klaus Schmidt, dating back to the 10th–8th millennium BCE. During the first phase, belonging to the Pre-Pottery Neolithic A, circles of massive “T-shaped” stone pillars were erected – the world’s oldest known megaliths. After our mysterious visit there,, we proceed to airport for domestic flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival in Istanbul, we have our dinner and then check in hotel.

Day 4Istanbul

After we have our breakfast, we check out hotel and then proceed to Leather Outlet Center which is nationwide famous. After our shopping time ends, we take a short cruise trip and enjoy the beautiful Bosphorus Strait with hundreds of houses by the strait and many beautiful palaces from Ottoman Era. Afterwards we have our free time in Grand Bazaar for local souveniers and after dinner we proceed to Airport for flight going back home.
